Salvatore D'Amico
The Salvatore d'Amico Farm is one of the oldest on the island of Salina and is a small family-run business operating in the municipality of Leni. Family memories allow us to reconstruct the history of the farm over three generations: it began with grandfather Antonino Divola in the early 1900s, who built the first winery in Valdichiesa, and after his death in 1964, his daughters Nunzia and Grazia continued the business.
In 1972, daughter Nunzia and her husband, Raffaele d'Amico, renovated the current winery in Leni inside an old Aeolian house and registered the vineyards under number 8 in the DOC register of Malvasia delle Lipari. In the same year, their son Salvatore D'Amico, a passionate viticulturist and lover of island traditions, decided to take care of the family business, and in 1976 he completed several "experiments" using old valuable manuscripts from his grandfather and the experiences gained by his parents, which allowed him to produce a Malvasia, a renowned dessert wine, of the highest quality and to relaunch the business under the new name Salvatore d'Amico Organic Farm.
